There have been many a “Gram parsons tribute album” over the past 30+ years, but this 1999 release is one of the best. A major factor being Emmylou Harris’s involvement, lending both credibilty and her amazing talent to the project. Most of the usual suspects are in attendance (Wilco, Whiskeytown, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, etc.) — as well as some surprises (Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Beck).
