October 1oth sees the release of my Autumn Tone label’s first release — Daniel Hutchens second solo album recorded at Dave Barbe’s Athens, GA studio this past Spring. You’ll here more about that next week though. Right now I want to turn you on to a demoed outtake from the pre-sessions in Denver that did not make the final album. This track sums up everything I have loved about Hutchens’ music going on 10 years now. It’s visceral, immediate, in your face, and most of all it’s fucking real. This is not a guy sitting on the side lines — his work is a refection of his life, be it good, bad and/or ugly. I probably listened to this song 5 times in a row in June driving down a mountain in NC this summer. Each time I had to turn the volume up louder and louder to shake the lyrical chills. God, it’s good.
