I acquired this 1977 Meters show in 2000 along with the Showboat Lounge show that I posted in January. At the time — and this still may be the case — locating quality live documents from the band’s heyday was no small feat.Actually, until a few years ago, even locating copies of their studio albums was an Indiana Jones like undertaking, be it CD or vinyl. Now most decent record stores have the catalog on compact disc, and the better vinyl shops have the original reissues on hand. What I’m getting at is: if you’re not already, it’s a great time to become a Meters fan.

1 | Dave Rawkblog February 4th, 2007 at 12:56 amI don’t wanna show myself as a clued up person, but your blogspot.com has a strong page rank. This moving will cause a falling because i know that i had same problem. New layout looks good, though.
2 | bulut February 4th, 2007 at 8:52 amI don’t think he’s too worried about a “falling”! Pretty sure a site this stellar will be fine.

4 | danfun February 5th, 2007 at 1:34 pmThank you, thank you, thank you.
I haven’t listened to this yet, but I am thrilled to find a Meters’ show from this period. I was fortunate to be an LSU student when they played quite a few shows in Baton Rouge and New Orleans and truly deserved the Rolling Stone Magazine appellation as the best bar band in America. Is it too much to hope for a bass solo during this set?
