Why, in 2007, after more than a decade recording, is Ron Sexsmith still virtually unknown outside of his native Canada? The quality of the man’s catalog, right up to his recent album, Time Being, is beyond exceptional. Bittersweet folk-pop mini-masterpieces. Look for a proper review soon, and in the meantime check out “All In Good Time” below.

180 degrees different from Sexsmith, Rufus Wainwright is on the cusp of releasing a new album. I only just developed an interest in Wainwright’s music a couple of years ago, and only then after a friend suggested his 2003 album Want One. Four years after its release, I’m noticing the album’s fingerprints, with it’s lush production, all over a variety of albums, and of various genres.

i’d love to hear your take on rufus’s ‘poses’… that album is, in my opinion, a modern day classic.
