Thanks for posting these! The older I get, the more interested I become in music that was released before I was born. I hope Porter is enjoying our newfound interest in him. Does he still perform?

The Highwaymen cut "Committed To Parkview" on their first album back about a hundred years ago, ie, 1985.

Actually, Cash wrote "Committed to Parkview" for Wagoner, but eventually he did record it himself, a duet with Willie Nelson on the first Highwaymen album. Cash's manic delivery of the word "fantastic" in the final verse is worth hearing, but Wagoner's version is superior in every way (and that's not an easy thing for me to say about any Johnny Cash recording). Feels much more personal.

Wagonmaster is quite the album, though it's hard to appreciate the rest when I keep getting drawn to "Parkview." I really need to pick up that Rubber Room album.
