Jason Isbell :: Sirens Of The Ditch (July 10th)

sirens-of-the-ditch-isbell.jpgJason Isbell’s solo debut, Sirens Of The Ditch, is finally seeing its release July 10th on New West Records. We’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time, and after spinning the former Drive-by Truckers advance all weekend, it’s proved well worth the wait.

Fans of Isbell’s DBT contributions, and Muscle Shoals leaning southern rock in general, will find much to chew on here throughout the summer. Isbell is on the road touring now until August — check his myspace for dates.

Production Details: Co-produced by Isbell and Patterson Hood (DBT), Sirens Of The Ditch features Isbell singing lead vocals and playing guitar throughout, joined by Shonna Tucker (DBT) on Bass and Brad Morgan (DBT) on drums. Several musicians pop in for cameos including Spooner Oldham and David Hood (Patterson s father) on “Down In A Hole”, John Neff (DBT) on “Dress Blues” and Patterson himself guests on “Shotgun Wedding”.

  1. Well, I knew I was probably in for it when this record came out. And sure enough, I’ve already listened to this track several times through. I’m weak when it comes to Isbell’s songwriting – it’s just too great.

  2. This is a pretty great album. I’ve had the advance for about a month and loved it from the first listen. Much stronger than Patterson’s stuff. He will be missed in DBT.
