Back in the early ’70s Frank Zappa entitled one of his Mothers of Invention albums: Just Another Band From L.A., as a wry and sarcastic wink to the staggering amount of artists coming out of L.A. at the time. The same could easily be said for L.A. in the here and now of 2007.

Having said that: What you don’t want to do is blow off Bodies of Water as “just another band from L.A.,” as you would be missing out on one of the more interesting listens of the second half of the year, neatly wrapped up in the form of their recently released LP Ears Will Pop & Eyes Will Blink.
