It occurs to me that if I had to name the heyday I'd say - let it be, tim, pleased to meet me - which kinda shatters the twintone/sire division. One of my favorite live moments came at a show in Portland during the dtas tour with one of my least favorite tunes on record - We'll Inherit the Earth. Amazing.... thanks again for the great post (and blog). The eighties certainly saw an explosion of new digital studio processing devices whose overuse had basically run it's course by the early nineties. I certainly overused these tools as a home studio and live sound engineer, but eventually learned to just get the fuck out of the way of the music. Thanks again ps.
