2 | duke January 30th, 2009 at 4:42 pmSomething for the next show – Donny Hathaway. While it’s not his live 1972 album, I have been enjoying a compilation of selected tracks from Hathaway’s early 70s live performances. Hathaway was one of the most soulful singers to have existed.
I have been especially impressed by the tracklists from the last 5-10 or so (they’re all phenomenal) Aquarium Drunkard Shows. Where else (besides your iPod or on a mixtape) can you hear Deerhunter, Grizzly Bear, Serge, Arthur Russell, and The Velvet Underground within an hour of each other, with massive quantities of impressive selections between?
