Monday I saw Mike Watt open for The Henry Clay People. That night I went home, dug out my Minutemen records, and lamented the fact I no longer own the We Jam Econo documentary DVD. Here are a couple of acoustic clips. “We were fucking corndogs/We’d go drink and pogo.”

As much as I love music, I don’t watch music DVDs that much. I watch them once or twice and never return to them. But this documentary, the first time I saw it, I knew I would be returning to it again. It’s just an amazing film.
1 | j. neas April 10th, 2009 at 4:25 pmThank you for this…i’ll never forget those dark days of the early ’80′s, having nearly given up on music, then being given a tape w/Minutemen, Husker Du, and the Replacements … changed our lives…
one of my fondest memories is my son in his high chair, making his first noises/words in response to the e.t.c. section of ‘#1 Hit Song’ from Double Nickels…
and that’s an awesome DVD!
