What a great songwriter! I was planning on attending the Iowa City show a few months ago but I had other obligations. Jay was a DIAMOND! Ask Wayne at MW on Irving Park! Yo, Yo, Yo Booooy! I am very sad to hear of his passing. Listen to "My Man" from the Eagles "On The Border" album. Jay was a lot like Gram. Let him go but never forget him. Peace. Play on and do NOT turn it to 11!

Now are these just demos, or was this what they turned into Reprise as YHF and was rejected?

It's at times like these that I so, so appreciate the integrity and class displayed by Justin and AD. There are sites reporting this story - and allowing comments - in a fashion so vulgar and uninformed that I almost long for some sort of net censorship. Thanks.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was looking everywhere yesterday for this and found some bogus knockoff that did not do the trick. YHF is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I have the LP cover art hanging on my wall with my seven other favorites. YHF happens to be the only from this decade and Jay was one of the reasons why. That clip you put up from the film IATTBYH says it all. Jay was helping Jeff evolve and was doing his best Brian Wilson/Jon Brion mad scientist work behind the beautiful words and chords of that LP.

He will be missed. I was looking forward to the 2017 reunion Album in the back of my mind. At least we have this gem to live with.

Some of my favourite Wilco moments involve Jay. He and Jeff were really a phenomenal combination.

I love Wilco pre, and Iove Wilco post Jay. I miss Jay though, and his last solo album was excellent. I'd hoped he'd tour to Vancouver. A great loss.
