One has to appreciate life’s small synchronicities. I’ve recently been binging on Fleetwood Mac’s 1979 Tusk album, and today (if you haven’t noticed around the world wide web) Atlas Sound posted a cover of the LP’s “Walk A Thin Line” on their Deerhunter blog. Very stripped down.

Long-time lover of Tusk here, and I highly recommend taking the time to trim out the fat on that album (and by “fat,” I mean anything not by Lindsey Buckingham, except for “Sara,” “Honey Hi” and “Think About Me”). Cut the rest of the tracks out and load it up on your iPod, it makes for an even more enjoyable listening experience.
The Atlas Sound cover isn’t bad, stays pretty true to the original.

2 | mox August 13th, 2009 at 10:59 amI love the Tusk album – it’s been on my list of top 5 favorite records – since 1979.
Tusk is one of my faves, too. What about “Over and Over”? Such beautiful guitar work. The Camper Van Beethoven cover of the entire record is pretty ridiculous, but endearing.
3 | Mark August 14th, 2009 at 8:20 pmAtlas Sound is amazing from what I hear of them thus far. Thanks for posting the followup link to Walkabout! I stupidly deleted it from my stereogum podcast. Must’ve been a bad day.
