I’ve been keeping tabs on Doveman’s (Thomas Bartlett) career for about four years now, beginning with his 2005 debut The Acrobat. Since then Bartlett has released several LPs including an album completely, and curiously, focused on reimagining the entirety of the Footloose soundtrack. Brave. Bartlett, a longtime friend (and touring musician) of the National, released his third LP, The Conformist, last month via the band’s own Brassland label. Continuing in his, now, trademark whisper-dream vocal style, Bartlett is accompanied throughout the album by members of the National including Matt Berninger’s honey baritone.
Check out the album’s first single, “The Angel’s Share,” below, featuring Berninger’s guest vocals.
