The Besnard Lakes are responsible for one of the best LPs of 2007—the eight track soundscape that is The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse. With “Albatross” (the first single from their forthcoming LP ...Are the Roaring Night), the Montreal group, fronted by husband and wife Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas, continue down the path set out on Dark Horse; one reminiscent of old 4AD: psych-leaning, atmospheric, warm and familiar.
Jagjaguwar is releasing”Albatross” as a 12-inch single (February 9th) with an exclusive b-side, “Four Long Lines.” Look for the LP, The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night, to drop March 9th.
