Loving this album, it rocks. It’s nice to discover a band that’s focused solely on rocking; writing quality tunes while using familiar rock textures as opposed to joining the rat race to record with as many quirky sounding instruments as possible as has been the case with so many bands over the past 10 years.

Maybe it’s because I was raised on crappy New Jersey pop-punk and now have a knee-jerk reaction against things that remind me of it, but I cannot for the life of me enjoy Titus Andronicus. And so many people with such good taste in music like it. It just comes across as contrived, annoying to the ears, and so many other things to me. But hey it’s all opinion And I’m always glad to revisit things I didn’t like at first and keep pushing the boundaries

Interesting review of a great album.

One note: The Monitor didn’t “tear apart” the Merrimac. The two ships fought to a draw and retreated.
