The guys in the Allah-Las (one of my favorite new bands from L.A., who I’ll be writing about at length shortly) just hipped me to this video for Dennis Wilson’s “Lady” (aka “Fallin’ In Love”) from 1970. According to Beach Boys lore the song was originally intended for use on the the album that became the band’s Sunflower LP. It didn’t make the final cut and ended up as the b-side for Wilson’s solo debut, his collaboration with Daryl Dragon on the “Sound of Free” single. A favorite Dennis cut, this (ostensibly) fan-made video comprised of home video really ties into the Dennis story/myth of the early 70s. Great stuff.
