Unheralded soul from Chicago, The Contributors of Soul headed down to Memphis in the summer of 1970 to record with Al Green's band. While the group (and its previous iteration, The Creations) never achieved success, nor note, outside of the bustling South Side scene, they left behind a handful of could-have-been classics.
